Personal Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 out of 5)
As part of the PLSD 400: Professional Skill Development curriculum at Green University of Bangladesh, I completed the JobReady – Employability Skills course, developed by the Wadhwani Foundation. This course aimed to enhance students’ soft skills, focusing on areas such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional etiquette—skills that are fundamental to career readiness and success in the workplace.
The course was coordinated by Mr. Monjur Kibriya Bhuiyan, who served as the Career Counselling Focal Person (CCFP) for this program and lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Media Communication. His sincere and thoughtful guidance played a key role in making the course accessible and well-structured. He was attentive and cooperative throughout the program. His involvement and supportive coordination through the Center for Career Development (CCD) greatly contributed to the accessibility and organization of the course.
While the course succeeded in introducing key employability skills and offered the flexibility of self-paced learning, its overall impact felt somewhat limited. The fully digital format lacked the depth and interaction that live or in-person sessions could provide. In my view, a hybrid approach combining online content with real-time workshops or discussions would significantly enhance the learning experience.
To maximize its effectiveness, I recommend that future iterations of the PLSD 400 course incorporate in-person or live interactive sessions alongside the existing online modules. This would allow for more dynamic engagement and practical application of the soft skills being taught.
The JobReady – Employability Skills course serves as a helpful foundation in soft skill development. With improvements in delivery format and more direct engagement, it holds strong potential to make a lasting impact on students preparing to enter the professional world.

As part of my academic journey at Green University of Bangladesh, I completed the PLSD 400: Professional Skill Development course—a non-credit program designed to build essential soft skills and workplace competencies.
The course offered a well-rounded mix of learning modules and practical activities, including:
JobReady – Employability Skills (by the Wadhwani Foundation): Self-paced lessons on communication, collaboration, time management, and workplace etiquette.
Email and Formal Communication Writing: Training in writing clear, structured, and professional emails.
Microsoft Word & Excel: Practical use of MS Office tools for documentation, formatting, data entry, and reporting.
Mock Viva Sessions: Interview simulations to boost confidence and verbal communication.
Presentations on Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques: Promoting awareness of mental well-being in professional settings.
CV/Resume Writing, Career Planning & Public Speaking: Enhancing real-world readiness through personalized skill-building exercises.
This course was excellently coordinated by Mr. Monjur Kibriya Bhuiyan, Lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Media Communication and the Career Counselling Focal Person (CCFP). His dedication, sincere efforts, and friendly yet professional support played a vital role in the successful delivery of this course. He was always approachable, encouraging, and committed to ensuring that each student benefited from the experience.
PLSD 400 provided a meaningful foundation for professional growth. The content was relevant, the activities were practical, and the guidance was invaluable. I believe the course would be even more impactful with the inclusion of regular in-person sessions. Still, under the supportive coordination of Mr. Bhuiyan, it was a rewarding and enriching experience that has added real value to my academic and career preparation.
